Refund Policy
Effective: 2026-08-10 · Version: 1.0
1. Who processes your refund
Purchases of AgentSynth Pro are sold by Polar Software Inc. as Merchant of Record. Polar is the legal seller, issues your invoice, and executes refunds. We decide whether to approve a refund; Polar carries it out and returns the money to your original payment method.
Refunds typically appear within 5–10 business days of approval, depending on your bank.
2. Your statutory right of withdrawal (EU and UK)
If you are a consumer in the EU or the UK, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal from the date of purchase, without giving a reason.
There is one important exception, and it applies here. Because AgentSynth Pro gives you immediate access to a digital service, you are asked at checkout to expressly consent to immediate performance and acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal once the service has been fully performed. That is a standard part of the checkout flow, not something buried.
In practice we do not rely on that waiver for a first purchase. See §3 — our own policy is more generous than the statutory minimum, deliberately, because arguing with a musician about €9 is not a business we want to be in.
Nothing in this policy limits your statutory rights, including your rights where the software is faulty or not as described.
3. What we actually offer
First purchase: 14 days, no questions asked. If AgentSynth Pro is not what you expected, email us within 14 days of your first payment and we will refund it in full — regardless of how much you used it.
Annual plans, first purchase: 14 days, no questions asked, on the same basis.
Renewals. Automatic renewals are not routinely refunded, because you have had a full term to decide. Two exceptions we will always honour:
- You cancelled but the cancellation did not take effect and you were charged anyway.
- You were charged for a renewal you did not intend and you contact us within 14 days, without having used hosted generation in the new term.
Service failure. If the hosted service is materially unavailable or broken for a meaningful part of your billing period, contact us. We will refund pro rata or extend your term, your choice.
Discontinuation or a material reduction in a paid plan. As described in the Terms of Service, we refund the unused portion of your prepaid term.
4. What is not refunded
- Consumed usage on a plan you have used substantially and are simply cancelling mid-term, outside the cases in §3. Cancel instead — see §5.
- Purchases made more than 14 days ago that do not fall under §3.
- Refunds requested because you no longer have a computer that meets the system requirements. The requirements are published before purchase, and a free tier exists to test compatibility before you pay.
- Anything where the account was suspended for a breach of the Acceptable Use Policy.
Note that AgentSynth has a free tier and a local mode that costs nothing. We would rather you evaluated the product before paying than paid and asked for it back — the free tier exists precisely so that first purchase is an informed one.
5. Cancelling instead of refunding
Cancelling is not the same as a refund. When you cancel:
- future renewals stop,
- your Pro access continues until the end of the period you already paid for,
- your account and your patches remain; you drop to the free tier.
Cancel any time through the Polar billing portal — the link is in your purchase confirmation email and in the application.
6. How to request a refund
Email support@agentsynth.app with the email address you purchased with and, if you have it, your Polar order number. You do not need to give a reason for a first-purchase refund under §3.
We respond within 3 business days. If we approve it, Polar processes it.
You may also contact Polar directly as the Merchant of Record; Polar's own terms apply to the transaction.
